sound deadening glue weak... can something be added?

I got a roll of insulation material from a roof supply place, I want to try it out in my truck. Got 3x29ft for free (Dude at the store told me to try it out and let him knows if it works). Only problem is that the glue seems kind of weak so I dont know if it will stick well. Anyone know a way to make it stickier? Maybe add some kind of glue or something to it?

Here's some pics..

If I put hand pressure on it it sticks for couple of seconds, but I can't help to think that it might start peeling. I was thinking use a hair dryer to heat it, but don't know if that will be enough.

Please don't use that in a car. It's not meant for sound deadening, it's only meant for heat insulation. It will do a little sound deadening but is no where nea as effective and the proper product. Biggest problem is that during the summer it will stink like the asphault it is and peel off any verticle surface you put it on.

the glue is not tar based. I know its not the right stuff but since I have my whole interior gutted I wanted to try it on one door and compare it to the other door to see if it actually does something. I got no other use for the stuff.

Honestly, I wouldn't waste my time. I've seen other guys try, and it always fails

Take the advice given. So, say if it produces results you wanted, I can imagine you going out and doing your whole car right.? If not whats the purpose of testing?

Im not going all out. I just want to practice with what I got till I get good enough to invest in good quality stuff. My first thing ever was kick panels.. they came out ok'ish. next I will attempt a center console, but none of this stuff Im investing much money in. Just want to learn.

With this material.. I think Im just being a cheap ass lol.

Im guessing there is no other use for this stuff?

Same here.....a lot of guys here in EU try to save some money and they apply all kinds of materials inside their doors, roofs, trunks, ..... and mayority of this materials peel-off in 6 months period or earlyer, just waste of time.
My advice would be - do things right first time with right materials and u will be happy

the best way to save money is to do it right the first time around. that way you dont spend money to remove the stuff, then more money to replace the stuff.

there is only one place i would use that stuff in a car and thats right above the transmission tunnel and even then, i would probably use some sort of heat blocking mat provided by showdown, skin, raam, etc.

prolly not showdown stuff though. i sent an email to don and havent heard back. maybe his email filters out yahoo addresses.
