I am wondering if I can use regular casting acrylic resin and the catalyst to wet the fiberglass and carbon fiber materials I am working with. I know I SHOULD use epoxy resin, but this is for testing pieces and I am short on funds for getting some more resin.


And if I am to make a project out of fiberglass and epoxy/casting resin, will it be nearly clear when it's finished? Or would it still be an opaque white color?

Any help on my "odd" questions would be appreciated.

Honestly i dont think it will work. Plus isnt epoxy resin cheaper than casting resin?

try it, but epoxy is used because it does not breakdown the material like poly resin does. Im not sure of casting resins effect on CF, I know it breaks down the fibers in fiberglass mat.

Isn't casting resin really thick? If so, it will be difficult to wet the FG out properly.
