"VoltsRat"

Hey guys... I just wanted to throw this out here. It's Metal manipulation for sure!

Anyway, I've been helping a Buddy of mine build an electric reverse trike. The front suspension & body was all from a VW Bug. The rear suspension came from a Honda Goldwing, the trans from a Harley, & the Motor is an electric motor, he bought for it.

Here are some new pics of it, (he hasn't added to his build yet) & here's his Build thread (& here's the discussion) he has going over at www.Volksrods.com.

These pics show that we took @ 3" out of the front & 0 out of the back, like a wedge chop. I think it looks a lot better now!

Here's how it started the day off

(Here I am cutting the lower half off)

(Here's Dave the owner & Tc the one that looks like Santa. Marking for the cuts.)

You can see the wedge removed on the drivers side now.

Me screwing around with the small door...

This is what it looked like at the end of the day

Thanks guys. The owner has built another one before this one. It was called "Ratguts". I'll see if I can get a couple of pics up for you guys to check out. It was similar in style, but, it was a 2 seater. His problem with that one was, he couldn't register it for some reason. This one will be registered & street driven eventually. He's built lots of stuff. He's into building boats as well! He really good with metal, 'glass, & wood. He even makes instruments! LOL! I helped him build an electric upright Bass out of Bamboo, which came out pretty slick, & sounded WAY better than I expected.

I wish I could get as much work done on my projects as I get done on other peoples projects... I seem to work more efficiently on other peoples stuff, plus I seem to do a better job the first time... Then again, some of the people I do work for aren't as picky as me in the details, so, it can be somewhat rushed I guess.

Here's a couple of pics of the Ratguts, & Ratbed that he built...

Hood getting striped, same hood he used on the Voltsrat. He cut it & narrowed it to fit.

I wasn't there to help him, but, Yesterday he removed the rain gutters & fixed some alignment issues with the front wheel well openings.
I think the pics tell it all..
