hey guys,,,,,,,,,,

i ran into a guy who seen my grandsons boat at a snowmobile show and he said he needed me to work on one of his, well the nextday he emailed and wasn't kidding,,

it looks like i have a winter project that actually pays this time,,,

he wants part of a deck replaced no big deal that one is straight forward, however he has another one that needs a whole deck done, and he wants it in natural finish to show off my skills with wood,

so my question is fastening the deck down, screws nails glue????


any ideas as to which way to go,i am hoping he has friends with boats that need work too,and i want to work out of my shop again,

I'm far from an expert but what about sinking the screws and using plugs of different wood for the holes? It would be a lot of measuring to make the finished product look good but I think it would be worth it.

If the deck panels are wood and they need to go into a fiberglass hull using threaded inserts with machine bolts would be the way to go.

The inserts to be engineered into the fiberglass hull so the panels can be removed and replaced with reliability.
